Mahmoud al-Rimawy is a well-known Palestinian writer, born in Beit Rima in the West Bank in 1948. Since the 1960s, he has worked as a journalist for a number of Arab newspapers including, most recently, the Jordanian newspaper Al Rai, where he has been editor-in-chief since 2007. He has also published a number of short story collections, some of which have been translated into English and French, and he won the Palestine Short Story Prize In 1997. He is currently focusing on his writing, his latest novel being Who Will Cheer up the Lady?
