Ahmed Fal Al Din is a Mauritanian novelist, born in Nouakchott, Mauritania, in 1977. He studied Literature at the University of Nouakchott and English in the US He works as a supervisor for editorial standards at Al Jazeera and has been a field television correspondent for the channel in various countries. During his coverage of events in Libya in March 2011, he was temporarily imprisoned. Fal Al Din writes on many issues, such as literature and politics, and has published several novels, including Al-Hadaqi (2018) and The Old Man (2019). His book A Guest of Ghaddafi’s Brigades: The Story of the Kidnapping of the Al Jazeera Team in Libya was published in 2012.
