Soukaina Habib Allah is a Moroccan novelist and poet, born in 1989 in Casablanca, Morocco. She works as a translator in the area of mental health. Habib Allah was awarded an honorary Fellowship in Creative Writing from Iowa University in the United States. She has published four books of poetry, a novel and a collection of short stories. For the latter two, she was awarded a grant from the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (2014-2019). She has won a number of Arab and international awards, including the Buland Al-Haidari Prize for Young Arab Poets (2015), the Floating Voices Prize in Italy (2019), and the Nadine Shams Prize for Screenwriting, at the Aswan International Festival for Women’s Film (2019). After participating in the Dubai international writing programme, she produced her first book for children. Her poetic play, Nini Ya Momo was staged at the Avignon Theatre Festival in France in 2022. Her writing has been translated into English, Dutch, French, German, Montenegrin and Spanish.
