Eman Assad is a Jordanian novelist and translator, living in Kuwait. She obtained a BA in Computing and English Literature from the University of Kuwait and a Masters in American Studies from the Jordanian University. She is the lead editor and a writer for the online platform Thmanyah and editor-in-chief of the daily news publication Aaha!. She is the author of two novels: Zeinab and the Golden Thread (2014) and You Won’t Find The Sun In A Closed Room (2021). She has published many translations of novels, including Virginia Woolf’s To the Lighthouse, Margaret Atwood’s The Blind Assassin and The Testaments, and James Agee’s A Death in the Family. For the last ten years, she has read and translated poems for poetry mornings held on social media platforms.
