Ezzedine Choukri Fishere

Ezzedine Choukri Fishere is an Egyptian novelist, born in 1966. He is the author of seven published novels, two of which were IPAF-longlisted and shortlisted: Intensive Care (2008) and Embrace on Brooklyn Bridge (2011) respectively. Some of his novels have been translated into English, French and Italian, and The Killing of Fakhreddin (1995) and Abu Amr the Egyptian (2009) were made into TV series. Fishere teaches Political Science at the University of Dartmouth in the USA, after previously working as a diplomat in Egypt and for the United Nations. He has published opinion pieces in several Arab and international newspapers.
