The International Prize for Arabic Fiction is once again delighted to be at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair from 23 – 29 May 2021.

For those able to join us at the book fair, the winner and shortlisted authors will be taking part in an event on the main stage in Hall 9, and livestreamed on the fair’s social channels, as detailed below:

IPAF: Honouring the 2021 winner and shortlisted authors
To celebrate this year’s books and authors, Lebanese scholar Bilal Orfali will interview each of them, track their journey from idea to finished book, and let them share their experiences with the audience.
Language: In Arabic with Simultaneous Translation into English.

Winner Announcement
The winner of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction 2021 was announced at an online ceremony on Tuesday 25 May from 10am (UK) / 1pm (Abu Dhabi).
The event celebrated the impact of the prize and featured contributions from the IPAF Chair of Trustees Yasir Suleiman, Administrator Fleur Montanaro and this year’s Chair of Judges Chawki Bazih.

About the Prize
The International Prize for Arabic Fiction is an annual literary prize for novels in Arabic. It is currently sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, under the umbrella of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and has been mentored by the Booker Prize Foundation in London.
