Ahmed Saadawi, winner of the 2014 International Prize for Arabic Fiction winner, begins his UK book tour

The International Prize for Arabic Fiction winner, Frankenstein in Baghdad by Ahmed Saadawi, is one of the six shortlisted novels still in the running for the 2018 Man Booker International Prize. To coincide with the announcement of the winner on Tuesday 22 May and celebrate the success of his novel, Sadaawi is visiting the UK to take part in several special events, as detailed below:
- Monday 21 May, Waterstones, Marsham Street, London, 7pm
Waterstones presents the 2018 Man Booker International Prize shortlist readings.
- Wednesday 23 May, SOAS University of London, 6.30pm
Ahmed Saadawi and Jonathan Wright, in conversation with Professor Wen-chin Ouyang and Annie Webster.

As part of a special Manchester Writing School International Literature Week, MMU welcome Ahmed Saadawi and his translator Jonathan Wright. This event is sponsored by British Council.

If named the winner of The Man Booker International Prize 2018, Ahmed Saadawi will appear at a special event in conversation with Gaby Wood.
