Judge Profile: 

Munira Al-Fadhel is a Bahraini writer, researcher and academic. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature and currently teaches at the University of Bahrain. She is the author of many critical studies and has participated in a number of academic and scientific conferences; in addition. She is the co-editor of the English anthology of Bahrain contemporary poetry Pearl, Dreams of Shell. She has published two books, Al-Remora, a collection of short stories, and a novella The Voice…The Frailty of Echo. She has also published a number of essays on women's writing and feminist discourse in local and international periodicals. Her book Woman, Place and Memory, a collection of critical essays on Arab women’s writing is forthcoming.
