Hasan Falih (Iraq) was born in Baghdad in 1981. He works as a teacher in the graphic design department of the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad. He has two published novels, Taxi Crown (2015) and Reader of the Clay (2016), an unpublished short story collection, and he is also a playwright. In 2015, his play The 'Alawi Well, about the owner of the sacred well at Najaf where the dead are washed, won first prize at the theatre festival run by the Institute of Fine Arts. He is also a regular contributor to Iraqi newspapers.
